The wide network of hiking paths that surrounds your 3-star Hotel Haflingerhof in the Wildschönau has something to offer for everyone: In the valley, convenient trails from village to village can be found, among them the “Kundler Klamm” natural gorge. For ambitious hikers, a number of mountains from 1,500 and more meters above sea level present themselves with rustic alpine huts.

Hiking pros are rewarded with marvelous views up on 2,300 meters in altitude. Thanks to the summer mountain cable cars, “lift-easy” hiking is possible also for small summiteers. For sure-footed people not afraid of heights, mountaineering and climbing guarantee for unforgettable experiences with a view over the impressive Kitzbühel Alps.

Mountainbike Wildschönau

Explore the Wildschönau with the wind in your back. For bike tours, no matter if traditionally on a mountain bike or a bit faster on an e-bike, there is a lot to be discovered. A continually growing variety of trails makes MTB hearts beat faster. Relaxed e-bike rides are possible on practically all trails, many inns also offer charging stations.

Biking is fun for the entire family. Here in the valley, even the smallest ones can keep track with the big ones. With the free WildschönauCard, the kids’ program at “Dragon’s Club” is free of charge. From Monday to Friday, the kids go hiking with llamas, visit farms or go swimming, while their parents enjoy some time together going mountain biking or e-biking.

High rope course

High Rope Parcour

Fly high in your summer vacation at the Wildschönau. In the heart of the Zauberwinkl forest, in a part of the village called Oberau, one of the highest high rope courses in Europe can be found. In between naturally grown trees, 29 exercises are waiting to be mastered. Accompanied by experienced climbing guides, an exciting challenge is waiting for you!

The natural high rope course is also suitable for children and thus a great event for your family holidays at the Wildschönau. The high rope course is a "WildschönauCard" bonus partner, which guests of the Haflingerhof receive free of charge upon arrival for the duration of their stay.

Culture and tradion in the Wildschönau. The “z-Bach” mountain farm museum, in the Oberau part of the village, the First Tyrolean Wood Museum in Auffach and the show mine in Thierbach show over 1,000 interesting exhibits from bygone times.

The weekly markets are another popular highlight, where apart from freshly baked Tyrolean farmhouse bread and other delicacies also hand-crafted pieces of work can be purchased.

Are you flying high in the Wildschönau? Thanks to the good thermals, the Markbachjoch in Niederau is a very popular flying area for paragliders. Apart from paragliding lessons, the Wildschönau Paragliding School also offers tandem flights for spontaneous people.

The alpine huts on Markbachjoch offer a great view to marvel at the bustling flying activities. This is the perfect opportunity for kids, dogs or the not so brave ones to be part of the paragliding experience and enjoy the Wildschönau specialties in summer.

Bummelbahn

Up for a fun ride through the Wildschönau high valley? The “Bummelbahn” lines take you to the most remote corners of the Wildschönau. The train stops right in front of the Haflingerhof in Auffach and goes to popular destinations like the Schönanger Alm or the quaint mountain village of Thierbach.

The "Kundler Klamm" natural gorge is a popular destination especially on hot summer days.

There’s a lot to experience at the Wildschönau kids’ club! For kids between 5 and 12 years of age, the Dragon’s Club offers an action-packed program in the outdoors. A relaxed barbecue at the self-made fire pit, gold planning in the Wildschönauer Ache river, a trip to the “enchanted forest” and llama hikes are only a few points on the agenda. From Monday to Friday, new adventures are waiting to be experienced every day.

The greatest thing about it? For holders of the WildschönauCard, the kids’ program is free! And: Haflingerhof guests receive the WildschönauCard free of charge upon their arrival in Auffach.
