Your search for the perfect hotel in the Ski Juwel ski area is over. Our ski hotel in Wildschönau is located just outside of Auffach, where the base station of the 8-passenger Schatzbergbahn opens the doors to one of Tyrol’s top 10 ski areas.
The ski bus stops right outside the door every 5 to 10 minutes in the morning, so you can start your day of skiing quickly and comfortably. At the end of your ski day, you can ski down the trail back to the hotel. Alternatively, you can also take the ski bus back to the hotel.
From the breakfast table to the gondola takes less than a quarter of an hour. The “Mühltal Haflingerhof” ski bus stop is around 40 meters from the house, and in the afternoon you can ski back via the ski route to right behind the hotel.
The ski bus is free with the WildschönauCard, which you receive automatically when you stay with us. In the evening, the Nightliner takes you through the valley.

Skiing in the Ski Juwel Alpbachtal Wildschönau ski area
Enjoy excellent access to the ski area combined with a pleasantly quiet location. The Ski Juwel connects the Wildschönau with the Alpbach Valley: 114 kilometers of slopes, 43 lifts and 25 ski huts between 830 and 2,030 meters. The season usually runs from early December until after Easter.

SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser – Brixental: If you are staying for a week, spend a day in the SkiWelt. The Salvenbahn in Hopfgarten is about 20–25 minutes away by car, and day passes are available right at the valley station.

The Wildschönau is a certified Tyrolean family ski region. Beginners practice at the Zwergenland at the Schatzbergbahn, and children’s ski courses are available from age 4. For days without skiing, there is the 5-kilometer toboggan run from the Schatzberg and night tobogganing at Roggenboden. Everything for families at a glance: Family ski vacation in the Wildschönau.
At the Haflingerhof, families have plenty of space, plus sauna and steam bath after skiing, plenty of nature and our riding stable. The price depends on the room, the children’s ages, the season and the occupancy. The easiest way is to calculate your family vacation online or send us a non-binding enquiry, and we will recommend the right room for you.
Look forward to 29 kilometers of well-groomed and mostly secluded cross-country trails through the high valley. The Wildschönau ski rental shops provide the necessary equipment. Courses for all skill levels can also be booked at the ski schools.
The high-altitude trails on the Schönangeralm and at the Markbachjoch are open outstandingly long in late winter, and also offer cozy places to stop for a break.

The Schatzberg offers exciting toboggan runs to Auffach, Thierbach or directly to the hotel. The toboggan run from the Schatzberg is 5 kilometers long and has been awarded the Tyrolean toboggan run seal of quality. There is also another popular toboggan run in Niederau. All mountain lifts are easily reachable by ski bus.
But if you are looking for more than just daytime tobogganing, the Wildschönau is the perfect place for you. Night tobogganing under floodlights takes place regularly at Roggenboden.

How far is it from the hotel to the gondola?
The valley station of the Schatzbergbahn in Auffach is just under 2 kilometers away. The ski bus stops around 40 meters from the hotel and gets you there in about three minutes. The Markbachjochbahn in Niederau is around ten minutes away by car.
Can I ski all the way back to the hotel?
Yes, depending on snow conditions. Ski route 28 “Mühltal” leads from the Schatzberg ski area to right behind the hotel. Alternatively, the ski bus takes you back, and the stop is right in front of the house.
Is there a ski school nearby?
Yes, two: the Tyrolean Ski and Snowboard School Wildschönau right next to the valley station of the Schatzbergbahn and the Happy Ski School in the valley station building. Children can join the courses from age 4. The ski bus gets you there in three minutes.

Where is the nearest cross-country trail?
The Mühltal trail (1.8 km) runs right past the Haflingerhof. In total, the Wildschönau has around 29 kilometers of cross-country trails, including the snow-sure high-altitude trails on the Schönangeralm and at the Markbachjoch. You can use the trails in the valley free of charge with the WildschönauCard.
