Does your child dream of discovering the world from the back of a horse?
Then our Horse Riding Camp is just perfect! During these days, your child will learn everything they need for their first steps into the world of horses – gently, joyfully, and without any pressure.

Arrival Day: Wednesday (or earlier)

  • Thursday – Trust & Care: We start right at the beginning. The children learn how to approach a horse, how to groom properly, and can form their very first friendships with our Haflinger horses.
  • Friday – First Steps in the Saddle: With gentle, individual guidance, the children make their first experiences on horseback. Step by step, they discover the feeling of freedom in the saddle – always at their own pace.
  • Saturday – The Big Styling Challenge: Who can braid the most beautiful mane? In our hairstyle competition, the children can get creative and give “their” Haflinger a beautiful makeover. A small surprise awaits the most creative team.

To round off the week, we end with a relaxed BBQ evening at the Haflingerhof. The children can share their experiences with the other young riders – and proudly celebrate their journey into the saddle.

Departure Day: Sunday (or later)

The price includes the riding camp program (approx. 3 hours per day) for children aged 6–16. For younger or older children, the program is not included and requires prior clarification with our reception team.

Culinary delights

Enjoy regional delights in the "Alte Stube"

Authentic, locally sourced, and prepared with love: Start your day with a hearty, organic breakfast, and in the evening, enjoy a 4-course menu of your choice featuring three main courses (vegetarian options are also available). Many of the ingredients are homemade, and some of the herbs and salads come from Sepp’s garden—we’ll accommodate food intolerances upon advance notice.

Wellness

Small & fine: spa & heated outdoor pool

Intimate and relaxing: The Finnish sauna, aromatic steam bath, and Swiss stone pine infrared sauna provide soothing warmth after hiking, horseback riding, or skiing. Afterward, enjoy a drink at the tea station in the quiet relaxation area—or, in the summer, take a dip in the heated outdoor pool (May–end of September) with a children’s pool, sunbathing lawn, and mountain views. It’s best to book massages in advance.

Riding

Riding offers for every level

From your first lesson to riding with confidence: You’ll train with our instructors in the indoor riding arena (also available in winter upon request). We also offer daily guided trail rides away from busy roads. Enjoy special moments with a breakfast ride or a ride to the alpine pastures—and for children, pony rides and pony leading are available upon request.

Summer activities

Summer retreat in the Wildschönau

Summer in Wildschönau means variety: leisurely valley trails, the Kundler Klamm, rustic alpine pastures, and “lift-assisted” hiking with summer cable cars. Plus mountain biking & e-biking, a high ropes course, paragliding, or a ride on the scenic train right in front of the Haflingerhof. For families, there’s the “Drachen-Club” kids’ program (free with the WildschönauCard).
